Created, and performed by Ethiopian migrant Lula Mebrahtu, aka Eclipse award and Oram award-winning musician LULA.XYZ, OommoO, stands alone., it defies easy classification. An expansion of her earlier shortform project, The Journey of a Digital Migrant, OommoO is an acronym for One-of-many-many-of-One. 

 Interweaving language, custom and music with ground breaking wearable tech MiMu gloves (which translate simple hand movements into complex musical compositions), OommoO is a poetic reflection of a visceral experience. Lula conducts a multi-media symphony complete with projected imagery, exploring the interface of cultures experienced by immigrants and displaced communities.. The audience is exposed to a collage of music, information, dance, and conjured atmosphere. It’s like…a dream on the edge of waking.
